my 1st & last people portrait was of my 2 boys – 4 years ago. we have it framed on the mantle (18×24) but guess what? we’ve added a little girl to the mix. so guess what i feel extreme guilt over? … the fact that she’s not over the fireplace. {word to the wise… save painting a 18×24 portrait of your children until you’ve declared yourselves “DONE”} i attempted to do a large portrait of all 3 … i started it 15 months ago. it’s so tough to find the time. you have to work when you have the time – but it has to be a HUGE CHUNK OF TIME. not quick 20 minute increments. it’s near impossible. but it’s those same 3 i’m trying to paint that are keeping me from painting it. so it’s hard to complain. ha! i wish i had it in me to finish it for my husband for christmas… hmmmm …maybe father’s day ’09.

sarah – you’re an incredible artist. not that we don’t see that everyday in your illustrations, but i, for one, LOVED seeing your oil paintings. THANK YOU FOR SHARING! and good luck with the move & all!
